MacDonald Sardeson was born about 1925 in Dunkirk, Chautauqua, New York, USA. He died on 15 March 2003 in Novato, Marin, California, USA. E-Mail message from Thom (Macs Partner):

I’m sorry this has to be a group communication but I’m sure you’ll understand.
Mac recently had a severe bout with low blood sugar which resulted in convulsions and cardiac arrest. After paramedics revived him and transported him to the hospital, he was stabilized and put on life support.
His doctors explained that since his heart had been stopped for seventeen minutes there would be a significant amount of brain damage and chances of Mac recovering and having a normal life were miniscule. I had to make the very difficult decision we had discussed many times. Life support was removed.
After a long, gradual deterioration, during which Mac was kept completely comfortable and sedated with no pain, he died peacefully at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15.
Mac and I enjoyed 26 wonderful years together. He cherished the home we created and was accepted by my family as my partner and mate. We complimented each other in ways that made every day an adventure and joy. I was able to share his love of travel, theatre and beauty. Mac was a model and inspiration to all who knew him. He was a gentle, kind and caring man who will be missed and fondly remembered for his genuine humanitarian qualities. Mac was a giver, we all received so much from him and I know that you will share grief and celebrate his 76 year life with me.
Julie, my/our daughter, has been with us all during this week. She is helping me with plans for a Celebration of MacDonald Sardeson’s Beautiful Life observance. Details later.
With sadness but lovely memories in my heart,
Thom
