Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Cunningham was born Dec. 20, 1917, in McDowell, W.V., the son of James G. and Sarah (Norris) Cunningham. He graduated from Central High School in Sioux City. He married Carol Sardeson on Sept. 21, 1945, in Sioux City. She died June 27, 1960, in Sioux City. He married Marianna Katzenberger-Sardeson on May 6, 1961, in Sioux City.
He was employed as an installer and storekeeper for Northwestern Bell for 36 years, before retiring in 1981. He had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and in Panama.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed bowling and was a fan of the Sioux City Explorers.
Survivors include his wife of Sioux City; four sons, James, Steve and Patrick Cunningham all of Sioux City, and Robert Bardsley of Liberty, Mo.; three daughters, Linda Kennedy of Littleton, Colo., Joline and her husband Mike Goosmann and Stacy and her husband Mel Beccard all of Sioux City; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Dixon of Charlotte, N.C. and Phyllis Vaglienti of Upatoi, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jean Spencer; and a son-in-law, Japper Kennedy.
Pallbearers will be Roger Uhl, Paul Downing, Jon Cunningham, Charles Bardsley, Tom Howard and Arnie Sardeson.
